Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce suffered a hamstring injury against the Broncos.

Despite losing key prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves for the season and halfback Mitchell Pearce for several weeks due to injury, Roosters coach Trent Robinson remained upbeat after his side's tense 12-10 win over Brisbane on Friday night.

Waerea-Hargreaves went off with a season-ending ACL injury in the 12th minute and was followed shortly after by Pearce, who strained a hamstring diving to retrieve a pass out in front of him in an attempt to score a try.

While Robinson was disappointed for the players individually, he said history doesn't remember which players were unavailable when recording who won a premiership and insisted his side would simply get on with the job.

That task is made slightly easier by the calibre of replacements available; playmaker Jackson Hastings was on the bench on Saturday and played just over 60 minutes in the halves for Pearce.

The Tricolours' host of super-fit forwards managed to cover for the loss of Waerea-Hargreaves on the night but next week have the luxury of bringing in prop Suaia Matagi, while international prop Sam Moa is due back from a fractured wrist in a week or two.

"As far as I know Jared's out for the season, I think it's ACL, then Mitch will be a few weeks, hamstring," Robinson said after the game.

He said while Waerea-Hargreaves was positive after the game and helped sing the team victory song, the new dad was likely to do it tough for a little while.

"We spoke to them, Jared helped us sing the song again. There's not much you can do, as soon as he knew it was ACL - season's over. He was positive, he's going to have some tough times over the next few days but going home to a little one will help," Robinson said.

In terms of his team's immediate approach? "You just move on," he said.

"We've got to do our bit for Jared but you just move on. We're at a point in the season, everyone has these, we've just got to make sure there's no excuses.

"No-one makes excuses within a season, no one looks back in years gone past and says someone was out, you just move on. We've got to get ready and prepare for Manly next week and the back end of the season. "
