Roosters lose Friend for a month

Roosters co-captain Jake Friend will miss the next four weeks of NRL action after breaking his hand during training.

The Tricolours have spent the week away in camp with the side's final bye of the year to come in Round 19, the No.9 injuring his hand during a drill on Tuesday morning.

The club has confirmed Friend will undergo surgery on Wednesday afternoon, and looks likely to return in time for the club's showdown with the Storm at AAMI Park in Round 23.
