Tricolours hooker Jake Friend (65) was also consistently busy making 63 tackles in a beaten side. No surprise to see Cowboys captain Johnathan Thurston (86) atop the Fantasy point scoring list as he led his team into their second ever NRL Grand Final. Three try assists, four line-break assists, six tackle breaks, three offloads and plenty of kick metres in a dominant all round performance from the North Queensland No.7. Underrated second rower Gavin Cooper (72) also had a night to remember with two tries, a try assist of his own, two line breaks and 37 tackles.

Justin O'Neil (67) rounded out an all Cowboys top three with two tries, a try assist, three linebreaks and 15 tackles. Reliable Storm captain Cameron Smith (64) got through a mountain of work as he always does, making 49 tackles, a try assist and a linebreak assist.
