A serious head injury to Sunshine Coast Falcons forward James Ackerman and a health scare for Marmin Barba has overshadowed this weekend's results in Round 15 of the Intrust Super Cup.
Ackerman remains in an induced coma at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital after collapsing on the field during Saturday's game against Norths Devils at Brisbane's Bishop Park.
The incident happened during a tackle only four minutes into the clash with paramedics attending to the unconscious 25-year-old on the field.
The game was abandoned as a result with teammates visibly shaken by the ordeal.
"The thoughts and prayers of the entire rugby league fraternity are with James and his family and friends at this difficult time," QRL Managing Director Rob Moore said via a statement on Sunday.
NRL Welfare officers and councillors are assisting the players, coaches and referees involved in the match.
Moore said it was not an appropriate time to comment further on the incident or the status of the match.

Meanwhile Ipswich star Barba collapsed from dehydration during the Jets' 56-6 win over the CQ Capras at North Ipswich Reserve.
Marmin, the younger brother of Ben, was taken to hospital and placed on an IV drip, although the club announced via social media that the 24-year-old had recovered well on Saturday night.
