With Paul Gallen and Todd Carney leading the way, the Sharks were able to qualify for their first finals appearance in four years. After failing to the Raiders in week one of the finals it appears Cronulla are heading back to the player market to bolster their stocks for next season.

Tonight on NRL Daily, hosts John Gibbs and Joel Caine take a look into the magic eight ball to analyse how the Sharks team will look in 2013, with the speculation that they are about to sign Wests Tigers duo Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington.

“I think the Sharks will be competition favourites next year,” says Caine. “Their roster is too strong to question, with plenty of class, and no one can doubt the positive energy coming from the club.”

While Gibbs doesn’t quite agree they will be installed as favourites he does think the addition of Ryan is a smart move for the club.

“I can see the value in Beau Ryan,” Gibb said. “They need outside backs but one thing they have in abundance is back-rowers, which makes me think someone else might be leaving.”

Also on tonight’s show we speak with referees co-coach Bill Harrigan about the contentious decisions from the weekend and talk to Storm assistant coach David Kidwell about Friday’s grudge match against the Sea Eagles.
