A Gideon Gela-Mosby hat-trick drove the North Queensland Cowboys to a 27-15 victory over the Sydney Roosters in game 7 of the Downer NRL Auckland Nines.

At times the Cowboys made it look easy at Eden Park as their representative-laden side ran over the top of the Roosters.

First-half tries to Michael Morgan, Gela-Mosby and Kalyn Ponga gave the Cowboys a comfortable margin heading towards the break, but a Kane Evans bonus try on the siren did breathe some life into the Roosters.

However after Gela-Mosby secured his hat-trick and Justin O'Neill added another out wide early in the second period, the Cowboys were cruising at 27-7.

Late tries to Aidan Guerra and Connor Watson made the final score a more respectable 27-15 for the Roosters

Cowboys 27 (Gideon Gela-Mosby 3, Michael Morgan, Kalyn Ponga, Justin O'Neill tries; 1 goal) def. Roosters 15 (Kane Evans, Aidan Guerra, Connor Watson tries; 1 goal). Half-time: 15-7.
