Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds, Rabbitohs prop George Burgess and Sharks prop Sam Tagataese headline a list of nine players charged who face up to a combined 14 games on the sideline following a controversial weekend of rugby league.

Reynolds was charged twice after the Bulldogs' loss to the Broncos on Friday night, slapped with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge after allegedly kicking Sam Thaiday in the head in the 51st minute and a Grade 2 tripping charge on Ben Barba in the 69th minute. An early guilty plea for both charges will see Reynolds rubbed out until Canterbury's Round 26 match against the Gold Coast Titans.
Cronulla's Tagataese faces suspension for the remainder of the season; the tough forward was hit with a Grade 3 Dangerous Throw charge on his former Melbourne teammate Dane Nielsen and wikll miss four games even with an early guilty plea.
South Sydney's George Burgess was slapped with a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact for his chicken wing tackle on Manly's Steve Matai which will see him miss two weeks with an early guilty plea.
Burgess' teammate Issac Luke was also charged for his involvement in the same tackle but will escape suspension with an early guilty plea.
Parramatta's Junior Paulo faces three weeks on the sideline after being hit with a Grade 2 Dangerous Throw on Canberra's Brett White midway through the second half of the Eels' win over the Raiders in Darwin on Saturday night.
Manly's Josh Starling was hit with two separate Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charges on Friday night against the Rabbitohs; the combined charges will see him sidelined for a week should he offer an early guilty plea to both charges.
Also, North Queensland face being without their back-rower Tariq Sims for a week after he was hit with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact charge following his challenge on Tigers centre Tim Simona.
Melbourne's Tim Glasby and the Dragons' Dan Hunt were also cited with Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charges for their efforts on Newcastle's Sione Mata'utia and Penrith's Dave Simmons respectively, but the pair will escape any suspension with early guilty pleas.
