Melbourne Storm and the stars of the hit series The Voice will team up on Saturday at AAMI Park to support the RiseForAlex Round.
Four of this season’s stars will join Storm and the rugby league community in support of Alex McKinnon and help in raising funds to provide medical and financial assistance.
In addition to the NRL donating $1 to the RiseForAlex Fund for every fan who attends an NRL match this weekend, AAMI Park will also donate a $1 for every patron at Storm’s match against the Raiders.
Fans can show their support by purchasing a RiseForAlex wristband which will be sold at the stadium on Saturday.
It’s the show that has Australia talking; now four of this season’s The Voice stars will lead some of the pre-match activities as they entertain the crowd before kick-off. The popular C Major, Elly Oh, Soli Tesema and Julian Simonsz will perform from 4.50pm and at half-time on Saturday inside AAMI Park on a custom-built stage.
The artists will also perform on the AAMI Park concourse from 4pm, where fans will have their chance to take a seat in the coveted coaches red chair.
Five double passes to The Voice Top 8 Live tour in August, will be given away on Saturday, with fans needing to be inside the stadium for the chance to win.
In addition, Storm will also help paint the town red in support of the international AIDS 2014 conference that will be held in Melbourne starting from Friday. The conference will bring over 15,000 delegates and media to town including Iowa Senator Matt McCoy. The AAMI Park lights will turn red from Friday for a week, while the Storm players will wear red socks for Saturday’s game. The NRL has also thrown its support behind the international event with red touch judge flags, red number markings and the referees also wearing red socks.
