It has taken several years but Shaun Nona has finally landed himself an NRL contract.
Melbourne Storm confirmed on Wednesday that had signed Nona to its squad for the 2015 season.
The 23-year-old grabbed the attention of Storm officials after a strong season for Northern Pride in the Intrust Super Cup.
Nona is currently the competition's second-highest points scorer with the Pride leading the minor premiership race.
The Tully Tigers junior was rewarded with the five-eighth jersey for Queensland Residents to play the curtain raiser to Origin III earlier this year.
It will be Nona's first NRL contract after debuting in the Queensland competition back in 2012.
"We are pleased to have signed Shaun, having followed his progress this season at Northern Pride," said Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi.
"Shaun is a naturally talented player and if he maintains his positive attitude and dedication we believe he will do well in the Melbourne Storm system."
It is now a case of two five-eighths out and two in for Storm next season.
Ben Roberts (Castleford) and Cody Walker (South Sydney) will depart the club while Nona and Wigan No.6 Blake Green will be added to the playing list.
The Storm also re-signed Ben Hampton two weeks ago. This has ensured a level of depth and competition for the spot to partner Cooper Cronk in the halves next season.
Nona will join the club when pre-season training commences in November.
