It's the biggest State of Origin clash in recent memory, but just how does NSW coach Ricky Stuart plan to end Queensland's six-year dominance of the series?

In tonight's edition of NRL Daily we talk to NSW assistant coach Trent Barrett to get the word from inside Blues camp, and discuss Stuart's possible gameplan for taking victory at a packed Suncorp Stadium.

Barrett has the latest on the injury that will keep star back-rower Glenn Stewart out of the crucial match, and discusses the tough decision by Stuart to cut Dragons prop Trent Merrin from the 17-man Blues lineup.

"He is just unlucky," Barrett says on Merrin. "He missed out last year as well, but Tony Williams has too much of an impact to deny him (a spot in the team)."

Trent also shares the Blues' thoughts on Greg Inglis switching to fullback to cover for injured Queensland star Billy Slater.

"It will change their attack massively," he says. "They are completely different styles of fullback. He is a danger but we have done our homework."

Barrett also reveals the Blues were "very surprised" by Queensland's decision to dump super-talented back-rower Dave Taylor for the decider.
