A couple of old grand finals foes meet again as the Roosters confront Canterbury at the Auckland Nines.
Naiqama had a stellar year in 2011 before a tricep injury cut it short. He played well at centre and fullback. It was his best year since joining the Knights and arguably his best year in the NRL. Midway through the year he re-signed a 3-year extension with the Club. He is a senior figure amongst the Islander players and understands his responsibility. He has matured in that way quite significantly and leads by example on and off the field. He had surgery on his tricep but will be fit for Round 1 this year after training throughout the off-season. Naiqama is a member of the Club’s Welfare and Education Committee and has plans to work in the fitness industry post football.
