Broncos forward Sam Thaiday thanks the Brisbane faithful following his side's preliminary final win.

Sam Thaiday will captain a Brisbane Broncos squad at the Downer NRL Auckland Nines bursting with representative talent and the club's brightest young prospects.

It's been two years since Thaiday handed over captaincy responsibility under former coach Anthony Griffin and will have with him in Auckland fellow 'Fro Bro' Adam Blair, Kiwi Test representative Alex Glenn, Queensland and Australia winger Darius Boyd along with Andrew McCullough and Corey Oates.

Having missed almost the entire 2015 season with a knee injury the speedy Elijah Alick gets a chance to impress as does Ipswich flyer Carlin Anderson, former Panthers junior Sam Scarlett and Caleb Timu who makes his return to rugby league after two-years as a Mormon missionary.

Broncos Nines squad: Sam Thaiday (c), Elijah Alick, Carlin Anderson, Jai Arrow, Adam Blair, Darius Boyd, Alex Glenn, Keegan Hipgrave, Andrew McCullough, Francis Molo, Todd Murphy, Darren Nicholls, Corey Oates, Joseph Ofahengaue, Tom Opacic, Jonus Pearson, Sam Scarlett, Caleb Timu.
