No game, not even the grandest of finals, commands the kind of commitment and respect required of you on Anzac Day.
That might be a big statement, given Craig Bellamy's penchant for extracting 110 per cent, every second of every game in every season out of his Melbourne Storm players.
"For us, and I'm sure New Zealand is the same, it's just an honour to be able to play on Anzac Day, on such an important day in our history," Storm forward Ryan Hinchcliffe says.
"I think if we can go out there and show mateship and looking after our mate and playing as hard as we can, that's the best way we can show our respect to the Anzacs."
The traditional Anzac Day clash between Melbourne and the Warriors began in 2009 when the two sides played out a thrilling 14-all draw in front of 15,200 fans at Olympic Park Stadium.
Since then the annual fixture has taken on a life of its own, attracting crowds in excess of 20,000 every year.
Last year, the Storm escaped with a 28-18 victory despite being down by two with less than ten minutes to play.
"It's definitely a bigger game than most," Hinchcliffe says.
"The last few years the games have been really tight. When you line up, and the Last Post comes on and you look around... I think we've had a sell-out crowd the last couple of years.
"It has a bit more feeling in the air. We know we're out there on that special day in history on Anzac Day, and you know on that day that you need to work for your mate as hard as you can because you'd be doing an injustice to Anzac Day if you didn't do that. It's a special day and I know all the boys look forward to it each year."
