The Cowboys will face the Rabbitohs in Thursday night football in Round 23.

Thursday night football will return for the final four rounds of the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership.

The NRL today released the schedule for the final six rounds of the Premiership which includes a series of blockbuster Thursday and Friday night matches.

North Queensland, St George Illawarra, South Sydney and Brisbane will host Thursday night matches over the final four rounds.

The highlights of the finalised schedule include: 

• Current competition pacesetters North Queensland facing premiers South Sydney in Townsville on Thursday night in Round 23;

• The Broncos hosting fellow top-four outfit St George Illawarra the following night on Friday, August 14; 

• The Rabbitohs playing the Bulldogs, in a grand final rematch, on Friday night in Round 24 at ANZ Stadium;

• The Rabbitohs hosting current competition leaders Brisbane at Allianz Stadium on Thursday night in Round 25.

The final round (Round 26) will feature one of the biggest matches of the year between traditional rivals South Sydney and Sydney Roosters, on Friday night at Allianz Stadium.

The final match of the NRL Telstra Premiership season will see the Bulldogs and the Warriors clash on Sunday night, September 6, at ANZ Stadium.

NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said fans would be able to watch NRL matches five days a week over the final four rounds.

"We know there will be huge interest in those rounds as the teams battle for a place in the Finals," he said.

"Four of our current top five teams will host Thursday night blockbusters over the final month of the regular season.

"It will be a fitting finish to one of the closest competitions on record, and one which will likely keep us all guessing until very late in the season."
