Quick Toyota Cup Stats

• Launched 2008, the Toyota Cup is the first national youth competition of any of the major Australian sporting competitions.
• Within the next two seasons more than 200 Toyota Cup graduates will have played in the NRL.
• 98% of players in the Toyota Cup are undertaking further education and workplace training.
• The Toyota Cup has become a multi-million TV property in its own right and Fox Sports will continue to nationally televise selected matches live, including Finals and the Toyota Cup Grand Final.
• Two games are broadcast live each week on Fox Sports and attracted more than 2.8 million viewers each season.
• The average age of players is increasing with 50% of players taking the field each week now 20 years of age.
• Toyota Cup players are strengthening the depth of all-age competitions across the game with 97% continuing to play in either the Toyota Cup the following season or graduate to the NRL, NSW Cup, QLD Cup and other all-age competitions.

Toyota Cup Rules:

• No Work, No Study = No Play
• Minimum 24 hours or 3 days per week of either work and/or study
• Mandated Non Training Hours – 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday
• Player must have turned 17 years of age in order to play
• $250,000 Salary Cap for NYC Top 20, and $50,000 Salary Cap for NYC Second Tier
• Education Incentives. (NRL/RLPA pays up to 50% of fees).
• LAFH Allowance exempt from Salary Cap
• Education payments & living allowance exempt from Salary Cap
