Wests Tigers can confirm that members of the senior playing group fronted club doctor Peter Lorenzos on Monday morning with a concern over products they had purchased that may have been contaminated with Hepatitis A.

The players, who consumed the product in question a number of weeks ago, have shown no symptoms and there are no confirmed cases of the infection.

On advice of Dr Lorenzos the players will be closely monitored over time. This is isolated amongst a small group of players who had independently purchased the products.

Wests Tigers are confident that all players will remain healthy and can confirm that all will take to the field on Saturday night.

Wests Tigers are always concerned about welfare of players and are taking this very seriously. The club is being guided by the Public Health Unit in being proactive to monitor and symptoms and prevent any unnecessary illness.

The club will be making no further comment.
