Taupau was hit with a grade three dangerous contact – head/neck charge for a challenge on Roosters five-eighth James Maloney on Friday night. He risked a four-match ban if he unsuccessfully challenged the charge at the judiciary.

Josh Reynolds has pleaded guilty to a grade one dangerous contact – head/neck charge on Valentine Holmes and accepted a one-match ban, although he will also miss four to six weeks with a knee injury.

Knights playmaker Tyrone Roberts was also charged for a dangerous throw on South Sydney centre Dylan Walker, but is free to play in Round 21 after entering an early guilty plea.
