The Sydney Roosters have won the 2013 NRL Premiership

For the first time in 20 years, Rugby League fans have the opportunity to attend a World Club Challenge in Australia with tickets going on sale on Monday to February’s clash between the NRL Telstra Premiership-winning Roosters and Super League champs Wigan at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium.

Roosters and Wigan Warriors Members will have from November 25 to January 7 to buy tickets to the February 22 clash, the first World Club Challenge to be played in Australia since the 1994 match between Wigan and the Broncos at Brisbane’s then ANZ Stadium. Other NRL Club members will have the opportunity to buy tickets as of January 8, with tickets available to the general public from January 13, 2014.

“The NRL is working with the Roosters and Wigan and we are very excited about their plans to stage the World Club Challenge at Allianz Stadium in the lead-up to the 2014 Telstra Premiership season kicking off soon after,” said Mr Paul Kind, NRL Head of Marketing and Commercial.

“This is a great event for all Rugby League fans who have waited a long time to have the opportunity to attend a match like this in Australia.”

Tickets are available from www.ticketek.com.au/wcc.
