One Community Ambassador David Peachey has called on Rugby League fans to support the ARL Commission’s nomination to be recognised internationally for outstanding community service for the second time in two months.

The ARL Commission, which last month won the International Beyond Sport Federation ‘Governing Body of the Year’ Award in London, is one of seven finalists for a prestigious International Sports Marketing 360 Award.

The public are involved in the first stage of voting with Rugby League fans having until 11:59pm next Wednesday September 5, 2012, to vote click here.

Under the category of ‘Making a Difference’, Rugby League has been nominated for the work and commitment made around the Harvey Norman All Stars event.

The Learn Earn Legend! program is being recognised for using the power of Rugby League to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander outcomes in education, employment, health and social well-being.

“This is another great honour after winning the International Beyond Sport Federation ‘Governing Body of the Year’ Award, which celebrated Rugby League’s commitment to helping Indigenous communities,” Peachey said.

“So many people and communities across the country play a role in Rugby League’s work with Indigenous communities so I encourage you to get on line and vote for the ARL Commission for this prestigious award.”

The Sports Marketing 360 Awards winner will be chosen by a judging panel from the top three nominations determined by the public voting, with the winner announced in London on September 27.
