South Sydney prop Tom Burgess has put an unhappy night behind him after coming up with four errors in the Rabbitohs' 20-point win over the Wests Tigers on the weekend.

Burgess racked up 141 metres in a 55-minute showing – his longest time on the field this season – but consecutive loose carries in the ruck were the 25-year-old's downfall in the opening half of the game.

The second stint from the England international proved far more valuable as the Bunnies ran in three tries both before and after half-time.

Burgess admitted on Monday the error rate was disappointing but was something he continuously works on.

"I'm always looking at my ball control and this year has been alright – I only had three errors before the game on Friday night," Burgess told NRL.com.

"Obviously it was a blowout there coming up with four errors but I'm not too worried about it.

"I think people tend to jump on it more because of the errors George has made as well.

"People are always going to comment on it but I've just got to remain focused on my game and concentrate on always improving."

‌After a dismal showing in defence against the Sea Eagles in Round 9, the Bunnies aimed up to restrict the Wests Tigers to only eight points after being blown away in the corresponding game in the opening round of the season.

"We were more happy with the defence on the week so it was good to keep them to only the one try," Burgess said.

"Everyone probably freshened up [after the Representative Round] mentally more than physically and I know for me I really enjoyed the week in England camp."

South Sydney head to Perth this weekend for the ninth consecutive year to host the top-of-the-table Melbourne Storm at NIB Stadium, after the Storm were beaten at the death by the Titans on Saturday night.

"We're looking forward to heading over there again and we always talk about trying to head there twice because we love it so much," Burgess said.

"Getting into camp with the lads for these trips is what we play for.

"[Melbourne] are a tough side and after the Titans got them they'll be fired up."

The Bunnies have won five of eight clashes at the venue but went down in agonising fashion during golden point to the Gold Coast Titans in Perth last season.
