Biography

Born in the Southern Highlands, Nathan made his NRL career debut with the Parramatta Eels in 1998.

Outside of his 15-year career with the Eels, Nathan represented Australia in international tests and New South Wales in State of Origin matches.

Nathan's dedication to community is evident throughout his time with the Eels, supporting countless charities and community organisations, including The Children's Hospital Westmead, and continues to support these charities to this day.

Following his retirement, Nathan became a NRL Ambassador in 2012, supporting the NRL State of Mind, Well Being, Tackle Bullying, Respect and Belonging programs. In 2018, Nathan will continue this important work as a NRL Community Program Deliverer.

"The main reason I became a NRL Ambassador was to be able to educate and influence school children in a fun and informative way, and now as a Community Program Deliverer, I can build on the work we've been doing alongside some of the best players our game has seen," said Nathan.

"As many would agree, being a NRL Community Program Deliverer is a great way to stay involved in the game and continue the great work rugby league does for Aussie footy fans around the country."

"Footy unites all cultures, religions and backgrounds. There's something very special about a sport that can foster that kind of connection."

Nathan and his wife Bonnie live in Sydney's northwest with their four sons, Archie, Buster, Rowdie and Dodge. In addition to his work with the NRL, Nathan works as a rugby league commentator at Fox Sports News and The Matty Johns Show.
