The Australian Jillaroos celebrate following their win over the Kiwi Ferns at Suncorp Stadium.

The Harvey Norman Jillaroos will feature on free-to-air television for the first time when the Anzac Test curtain-raiser match against the New Zealand Kiwi Ferns is broadcast on Channel Nine next week.

On Sunday May 10, Sydney and Darwin residents will see the Trans-Tasman clash between the two women’s sides from 1:30pm (AEST) and 1:00pm (ACST). This will lead into Channel Nine’s Sunday afternoon NRL Telstra Premiership broadcast between the Eels and Storm from Pirtek Stadium.

Following on from the success of the women’s Nines games being shown live into New Zealand during the Auckland Nines, the match was also shown live in New Zealand through Sky Sport 2.

“To have a game featured on free-to-air-television for the first time is a fantastic promotion and strong indication of the growth of the women’s game,” NRL Head of Football Todd Greenberg said.

“It follows an announcement from Harvey Norman earlier this week that they would partner with the Jillaroos as naming rights sponsors for the next three years.”
