South hooker Issac Luke started from the bench against the Dragons in Round 9.

Rabbitohs hooker Issac Luke has taken an early guilty plea for a shoulder charge on Brisbane's Corey Oates after Souths' big loss to the Broncos and will miss his side's next two matches.

Luke, who had only made his return from suspension on Thursday night having avoided a further ban after being cited for a shoulder charge the previous week, will miss the Rabbitohs' Round 26 clash with the Roosters at Allianz Stadium and their game in Week One of the Telstra Finals Series.

The base penalty for a grade one shoulder charge is 200 points, and Luke has prior non-similar offences in the past two years along with 40 carryover points.

Brisbane's Alex Glenn was also charged by the NRL match review committee for making dangerous contact to Adam Reynolds' neck in a tackle, but can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.
