Eels prop Suaia Matagi in action against the Sea Eagles in Round 1 of the Telstra Premiership.

Eels forward Suaia Matagi has been charged with tripping in Friday night's win over the Rabbitohs.

The charge resulted from an incident involving Rabbitohs forward Anthony Cherrington in the 38th minute in Friday night's match.

Matagi faces a $1,100 fine if he pleads guilty to the charge, or risks a $1,500 fine if he unsuccessfully fights the charge at the judiciary.
