Trent Merrin is free to play this weekend after pleading guilty to a dangerous throw charge from Origin I.

NSW forward Trent Merrin has pleaded guilty to a dangerous throw charge from State of Origin I but is free to play this weekend.

Merrin will have 93 carryover points to his name after entering an early guilty plea over a lifting tackle on Queensland five-eighth Johnathan Thurston in the 70th minute of Wednesday night's game, won by the Maroons 11-10.

He was the only player charged by the match review committee from the Origin series opener, and is free to line up for the Dragons against the Sharks this weekend.
