Knights players celebrate in their match against the Raiders in Round 3.

The Newcastle Knights have welcomed back hooker Chris Adams to their first-grade squad for the rest of the 2016 season, and also signed four other players.

Adams made his NRL debut in 2012, playing three games for the Knights before returning to the local Newcastle Rugby League competition.

Having impressed for Lakes United, Adams has been signed by the Knights once again.

"We will always look to give outstanding talent in the Newcastle Rugby League an opportunity to test their talents at a higher level," Knights coach Nathan Brown said.

"Chris has been in great form with Lakes and we are pleased to give him an opportunity to join our full-time squad and strengthen the depth in our roster.

"We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to Lakes United for releasing Chris for the remainder of the year."

The club has also brought in Tom Hughes (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Jackson Hill (Wyong), Logan Harris (Redcliffe), Ryan Walker (Kurri Bulldogs) to boost the reserve grade squad.
