Schoolboys too strong for Wales in Caerphilly

The Australian Schoolboys side has kicked off their 2010 European tour in impressive style after recording a convincing 56 – 4 victory over the Wales U/18s Dragons in Caerphilly overnight.

Spurred on by a vocal home crowd, it was the Welsh who scored first in the match, crossing in just the fourth minute of the game to set up a 4 – 0 lead, in what would be the only time the Dragons would be in front in the match.

The Australians hit back almost instantly through Harry Seijka to level the scores, before three quick tries in the next 10 minutes gave the visitors a convincing 20 – 4 advantage going into the sheds at half-time.

From there the enthusiasm and experience of the Australian team took its toll on the more inexperienced Welsh as the visitors ran in seven unanswered tries to secure the victory.
