Former Broncos and Panthers utility Sid Domic has been appointed coach of the Queensland Under 16 Indigenous team.

And in a further coup for the Queenslanders, former Newcastle and St George coach David Waite will assist Domic in a mentoring role.

The high-profile duo will prepare the side for the February 12 clash against the New South Wales Indigenous U16’s in a curtain-raiser to the NRL All-Stars pre-season game at Skilled Park.

The Queensland team will be selected in the following weeks with the assistance of the Education and Development staff of the QRL.

Queensland will be involved in a Brisbane-based training camp from February 4-7 before shifting base to Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.
