Surgery forces Slater out of All Stars

Storm and Australian fullback Billy Slater is unavailable for the 2011 Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars game in February because of shoulder surgery. <br><br> Slater, who is currently among the top 10 players in overall voting (forwards and backs), has been ruled out less than two weeks before the first round of public voting closes on December 28. <br><br> Rabbitohs English international Sam Burgess (shoulder) and Panthers' Australian representative Luke Lewis (ankle) are also both in extreme doubt following surgery to injuries they sustained during the Four Nations tournament last month. <br><br> The first stage of voting for the Harvey Norman NRL All Stars team closes on December 28 after which of squad of 64 players – two forward and two backs from each club - will be announced for the second round of voting which opens January 3. <br><br> To vote, <a href="http://www.nrl.com/repgames/allstarsvoting/tabid/10972/default.aspx"> click here.</a>
