Broncos new recruit Ben Hannant is proving popular with fans with the Origin star in line to secure one of the club’s two forward spots when public voting closes for the 2011 NRL All Stars team next week. <br><br> Hannant (close to 4000 votes) is less than 500 votes behind the Broncos leading forward Corey Parker, and only a few hundred ahead of emerging Origin stars Matt Gillett and Ben Te’o. <br><br> In the backs, Alex Glenn is leading the polling ahead of Ben Hunt and Gerard Beale. <br><br> After the first stage of voting for the Harvey Norman NRL All Stars team closes on Tuesday week (December 28), a squad of 64 players – two forwards and two backs from each club - will be announced for the second round of voting which opens January 3. <br><br> Hannant said he would love to play in the All Stars game which looks to have a real “Origin-like” feel about it. <br><br> “I watched it this year and it certainly didn’t look like anyone was out there just for fun,” he said. <br><br> “Given the competitive nature of players at this level of the game the match is always going to be played with a lot of intensity. <br><br> “It would be a real honour to be picked in the All Stars team. It’s a great concept and I would love to support it.
