St George Illawarra Dragons trio Jamie Soward, Cameron King and Matt Prior have all returned from their weekend away with the NSW State of Origin ‘Blues in Waiting’ camp to continue their pre-season training with the Club.

The three Dragons players were part of a larger 51-man contingent selected by NSW Blues coach Ricky Stewart that comprised of a talent pool from both the NRL and Toyota Cup competitions.

The three-day camp, held at Homebush, put the selected players through several fitness and skills sessions while also allowing them all to bond and understand the importance of putting on a Blues’ jersey.

“It was a really good experience to be a part of,” said Dragons forward Matt Prior.

“They had a lot of influential people come in and talk to us, giving us all a round-up of what State of Origin football is all about.

“We focused on a lot of the positives and towards the future.

“While we there to train, the camp also gave us all a chance to bond and get to know the guys you wouldn’t usually talk to.

“It’s good because down the track if you see or play with them you’re going to be that little bit closer”.

The reigning Premiers are in the midst of pre-season training ahead of the upcoming NRL 2011 season and Prior is amongst those counting down the days.

“I’m definitely looking forward to the season ahead,” continued Prior.

“I’ve been training hard like all the other guys and am getting ready for it.

“A couple more weeks and we’re back in it – I’m really looking forward to that.”
