Manly & W.Tigers to clash in Charity Cricket match
Wests Tigers will be looking to score an early victory over fellow NRL side Manly Warringah Sea Eagles when the two teams take part in a Charity Cricket Challenge Match at Manly Oval on Friday, January 28.
The Twenty20 Cricket Challenge will see the two sides go head to head in a friendly but competitive match to raise funds for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal following the recent floods in Queensland.
The match starts at 4pm and runs until 7pm. The alcohol free event has been organised by Manly Council, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and Manly Warringah District Cricket Club.
Wests Tigers will be led by Captain Robbie Farah with Benji Marshall and Gareth Ellis sharing the role of team coaches.
Both teams will field two celebrities each with Wests Tigers recruiting television personality Matthew Johns and NSW Blues wicket-keeper Daniel Smith.
The teams will be made up of 12 players who will each get a bat. Both sides will wear colourful uniforms.
Wests Tigers supporters are encouraged to bring their flags and wear their team colours to show support for the players.
Manly Oval is located on the corner of Sydney Road and Belgrave Street, Manly. Parking is limited at Manly Oval but parking stations are located within a short walk of the ground.
A canteen and barbecue will be operating throughout the match.
Entry is via a $10 donation for adults and free for children
