The St George Illawarra Dragons have completed their first training session on English soil in chilly conditions ahead of their Probiz World Club Challenge clash with the Wigan Warriors this Sunday.

Following a night of varying amounts of sleep, the squad completed a skills session and a weights session at the training ground of London Wasps Rugby Union Club, located in the London suburb of Acton.

The Dragons will be based in the nation’s capital to continue their preparation until Friday before travelling north to Salford in Manchester.

"We were a little bit tired today and struggled which is to be expected until we get our sleeping routine back," said captain Ben Hornby.

"The hotel has been good and we were able to explore London a bit yesterday which got me out for a bit.

"We've played well in our first two trials so the boys have taken that confidence over here with them."

Dragons Ambassador Wendell was on hand at training and caught up with a few of the players at the end of the skills session to see how they were settling into the UK and how they found their first session.

Watch some of the training session and hear the players' thoughts on the Dragons TV Bigpond player.

The St George Illawarra Dragons Probiz World Club Challenge clash against the Wigan Warriors will be aired live from 6am, Monday, February 28, on Fox Sports 3.
