Melbourne Storm has completed its playing roster for the 2011 season with the signing of Fijian native Sisa Waqa.

24-year-old Waqa, has been training with the Storm on a three-month contract, and following another strong performance in last week’s trial against the Broncos has secured a contract for the remainder of the season.

The athletic winger will continue to strengthen the Club’s outside backs, joining a group that boasts the likes of Anthony Quinn, Matt Duffie, Justin O’Neill and young winger Elijah Niko.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy said the signing of the former Rooster and rugby union convert will bring important depth to the outside backs.

“The Club is pleased to have signed Sisa and he will add another dimension to the team with his outstanding strength and speed,” Bellamy said.

“Whilst we are very pleased with the quality of our outside backs we feel Sisa will add further depth and strengthen our options over the season.

“His performance and attitude during pre-season training has been consistent and pleasing.”

The entire Storm squad was presented with their official jersey at the Club’s Season Launch gala breakfast at Crown’s River Room this morning.
