Rugby League fans will be invited to score a try and kick the footy on the hallowed SCG turf following Sunday’s historic Dragons-Bulldogs Men of League Heritage Round clash.

More than 30,000 fans are expected to converge on the SCG for the match between two of the game’s traditional rivals with the NRL and SCG Trust announcing that following the game fans will be allowed on to the field to share in the Men of League Heritage Round celebrations.

Kicking off tonight, the Men of League Heritage Round has become one of the highlights of the Telstra Premiership with blockbuster matches bringing together past players, officials and families of supporters across all ages to celebrate the history, colour and tradition of the game.

“It’s a great experience walking out on the SCG,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said.

“I would encourage all Rugby League fans to come along on Sunday, enjoy an exciting game of footy and take the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of one of the world’s iconic sporting venues from out on the field.”
