This Anzac Day long weekend, we’ll gather our mates and family, sit down by the TV, or head to the stadium to watch our sporting heroes face off against each other on the field. And there are some great matches on, with the big Anzac Day challenge between the Roosters and Dragons kicking off at 4pm, Monday 25th.

Those Roosters and Dragons players all know they will have the loyal support of their fans. But they want us to remember the others out there who need our support this weekend. Those who are out there without the support of a crowd.

And so, they’ve teamed up with Telstra to send a shout out to all footy fans to get behind a great initiative that lets all Australians send a message of support to our service men and women who serve our country in peace-keeping, war zones and disaster relief operations – in Australia and overseas.

“Let them know you’re proud of what they’re doing” says Jason Ryles who, together with Mitchell Pearce and Anthony Minichiello, as well as Matt Cooper, Ben Hornby and Dean Young from the Dragons, took time out of their training schedules to record this video which will be played online and on the big screen at their game at the SFS on Monday, in the hope that all of you will get behind it too.

Their message? It doesn’t matter what team you cheer for or who you support this Anzac Day – just be a supporter of our service men and women.

Send them a message via text, 044 SUPPORT (044 7877 678), or online at TELSTRA.COM/ANZACDAY between the 20th and the 26th of April

So when you’re on your feet cheering for your team, remember to send our service men and women the support they deserve. They’ll appreciate it more than you know.
