The Melbourne Storm’s victory over the Gold Coast Titans has come at a significant cost, with up to four players succumbing to injury.
Whilst the club only needs to win one more game to lock up the minor premiership, they are going to have to do it minus halfback Cooper Cronk who is unlikely to be back for the finals after suffering a mid-foot injury.
They will also be without winger Justin O’Neill who after fracturing his back (no spinal damage) is unlikely to play again for 2011. Fellow backs, Maurice Blair (Shoulder) and Dane Nielsen (Ankle) are both likely to be available for next Friday’s clash against the St George-Illawarra Dragons at AAMI Park.
In other club injury news, the Canberra Raiders horrible year of injuries continues with Josh Miller and Michael Picker both being forced off the field with shoulder complaints with both players now in doubt for next weekend’s clash.
