Newcastle five-eighth Ben Rogers has announced his NRL retirement due to injury.

The 26-year-old made his NRL debut whilst playing for the Panthers in 2004. He also spent time at South Sydney and St George before arriving in Newcastle in 2009.

“After some time to think about my options, it was a no-brainer to retire for the quality of my life after football,” Rogers said.

He will commence a role with the Hunter Sports Group as Corporate Sales Executive.
