The NRL and Telstra have today broken new ground with the launch of the first official finals iPad App for a major Australian football code.

The Telstra Premiership NRL Finals Series 2011 Official Guide gives League fans free access to the thrills and unpredictability of the Telstra Premiership Finals Series direct from their tablet. It features exclusive news and video content, finals previews, photo galleries and expert analysis from the game’s leading minds, including columnists Peter Sterling and David Middleton.

Every Tuesday throughout the Telstra Premiership Finals Series, NRL fans will be able to download a new edition of the Official Guide iPad app.

“We are excited to once again be breaking new ground with the release of the NRL Telstra Premiership’s official iPad App,” NRL Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, said today.

“It will bring our members and fans closer to the game than ever before and is another way Rugby League is using new technology to improve the experience of our supporters both locally and overseas.”

Telstra Executive Director of Media, J-B Rousselot, said Telstra was excited to be bringing this exclusive content to fans.

“We know our customers love the Game and the new partnership with the NRL gives them a brand new way to experience the highlights as we count down to the big one on the first Sunday in October,” Mr Rousselot said. “Telstra’s been helping fans connect with the game in a whole range of new ways in recent times including our dedicated NRL channel on the T-Box, NRL Game Analyser on IPTV and now the new app.”
