Secretary of the Kellyville Bushrangers, Penny Morgan, is the winner of the 2011 Toyota National Volunteer of the Year award.

Penny has taken out the award after her Bushranger’s efforts to assist the remote town of Theodore, near Rockhampton in Central Queensland, which was devastated by the foods earlier this year.

Penny and the Kellyville Bushrangers raised over $3,500 for the town to help rebuild it’s Rugby League side, and as well organised for over 60 volunteers to travel north for a  “Goodwill State of Origin Tour” in an effort to bring the Rugby League community together.

Penny joins the likes of Janice Boyce (North Stradbroke Island RLFC), Darryl Kelly (Wagga Rugby League) an Greg Carey (Warwick Cowboys) who had previously taken out the award.
