Wales have released their 19-man squad to face England in Leigh this Saturday.

Chris Beasley, who has an ankle injury, misses out, as do Geraint Davies, Andrew Gay, Mark Lennon and Lee Williams.

Skipper Lee Briers will make his expected return and will win his 21st cap after sitting out last Saturday’s 30-6 friendly win over Ireland at The Gnoll.

Ian Watson is in line to increase his Wales cap record to 29 should he take to the field.

Peter Lupton, Tyson Frizell and Matt Seamark could all make their second appearance after making their debuts against Ireland.

It is a strong line-up for Wales in this, their 158th full international and their first ever Gillette Four Nations game, with 11 of the squad having played in Super League or NRL last season.

Wales coach Iestyn Harris said: “It was a very difficult decision to choose the 19-man squad as last week’s game against Ireland was a very good all-round team performance. It will be even more difficult to cut two more out of the squad for Saturday.

“We’re all looking forward to the game. To open our Four Nations campaign against England in front of a full-house is a very exciting prospect.”
