Injured Kangaroo Billy Slater says he would like to stay with the Australian team and have the chance to watch them in the Four Nations final, where the Aussies will take on the winner of this weekend’s clash between England and New Zealand.

The fullback broke his right collarbone in five places after going in for a shoulder charge on England winger Ryan Hall early in Australia’s 36-20 win over England at Wembley on Saturday, and is likely to cut his UK trip short.

“I was pretty shattered at the game,” Slater said

“I knew what I’d done straight away; I knew it was the end of the tournament for me.”

Darius Boyd will move in from the wing to replace Slater, with Jharal Yow Yeh likely to takes Boyd’s spot on the wing this Monday morning against Wales.

Australia will take on Wales in Game 5 of the 2011 Gillette Four Nations series, kicking off on Monday November 14 at 4:30am (AEDT).
