In some welcome news for the Canberra Raiders, forward Josh Papalii has been cleared of a fracture to his arm and is likely to be available for the club when they take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 12.
X-rays of Papalii’s right forearm have cleared him of any fracture and it appears he may have instead suffered some minor nerve damage to his arm.
Papalii will now undergo intense physio and medical treatment over the next fortnight, in a bid to make him available for Canberra’s next clash.
In other injury news, Queensland hopefuls Justin Hodges (Broncos) and Dane Nielsen (Storm) are both expected to be fit for the first Harvey Norman State of Origin clash. Hodges was a late exclusion from the Broncos on Friday night, while Nielsen suffered a knee injury late in the Storm’s clash against the Sharks.
Despite tweeting the injury as only a ‘stinger’, Anthony Watmough is still in doubt for the Sea Eagles clash against the Roosters, after having no feeling in his right arm and shoulder directly after the game.
Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello will be monitored throughout the week after being involved in a head clash at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday night, while Warriors back Jerome Ropati will be sidelined indefinitely after dislocating his knee just before halftime.
Titans halfback Scott Prince will be have his hamstring injury monitored after he was forced to leave the field after 60 minutes on Friday. With the bye this week, Prince is expected to be right for the Titans' trip to Newcastle in Round 12.
