The NRL has rescheduled tonight’s Holden Cup match to ensure the best possible playing surface is available for the Telstra Premiership match between the Rabbitohs and Raiders.

The Holden Cup match between the Rabbitohs and Raiders will now be played at Mounties Sporting Complex tomorrow, Saturday, June 29, at 1.15pm.

NRL General Manager of Football Operations, Mr Nathan McGuirk, joined ANZ Stadium officials this morning to inspect the venue and determined that it was in the best interests of all concerned to reschedule the Holden Cup match.

“We want to ensure the best possible surface is available for the Telstra Premiership match and with the amount of rain we have had any additional matches would simply result in unnecessary damage to the playing surface,” Mr McGuirk said.

NRL officials also inspected Leichhardt Oval today and all three matches will proceed as scheduled.
