Round one of the 2018 Telstra Premiership is in the books. A pair of comeback wins by the Penrith Panthers and Gold Coast Titans were just two of a host of upsets.

2.45pm AEDT: Cowboys forward Gavin Cooper has accused Sharks players of intentionally twisting Matt Scott's knee after the star prop's recovery from an ACL injury, a claim Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has strongly denied.

1.45pm: Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary did his State of Origin chances no harm with a starring role in Sunday's comeback win over the Eels.

12.51pm AEDT: This just in from NRL.com Brisbane reporter Joel Gould: 

Broncos stars Darius Boyd and Matt Gillett have sat out the club’s Monday morning training session but both are set to be named in the team to take on the North Queensland Cowboys on Friday night.

Boyd’s training is being managed as he still battles a hamstring injury but the Broncos co-captain will train with the squad on Tuesday.

Back-rower Gillett will also train Tuesday but sat out Monday’s session after experiencing soreness after in his neck in the loss to St George Illawarra on Thursday night.

12.30pm AEDT: There are no charges from Sunday's NRL matches, with Brisbane's Jaydn Su'a to be suspended for a shoulder charge on St George Illawarra's Paul Vaughan on Thursday night after entering an early guilty plea.

12.20pm AEDT: The winners and losers of the opening round of the NRL Fantasy season are in.

12pm AEDT: The NRL's star halves are already justifying their pay packets, according to Brad Walter in today's Winning Starts Monday column.

11.20am AEDT: The Sydney Roosters have announced a triple signing, with young guns Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu and Nat Butcher all committing to the club through to the end of 2020.

9.20am AEDT: Was the Titans' win over Canberra the most impressive comeback of the opening round?

9am AEDT: It's a good time to check out the NRL ladder if you're a Warriors, Titans, Tigers or Knights fan - the bottom four teams of 2017 all sit inside the top eight after a stunning opening round in 2018.

8.25am AEDT: The Warriors shocked the Rabbitohs on Saturday night with a very rare win in Perth and it turns out they were shocked themselves when fitness guru Alex Corvo put them through the ringer in the pre-season, according to recruit Adam Blair. The early signs are good that the extra work is paying off.
