The mid-range mayhem is still a lottery after several round two scores that were either surprising or disappointing depending on who is in your team, while plenty of halves once again went huge.

Winners

The two players of the week both play in the halves for the Eels and were dominant in a big win over the Titans, with Mitch Moses (89, one try and nine goals) and young gun Dylan Brown (84, two tries and 10 busts) continuing the trend of halves scoring well against the Titans.

Anyone who punted on Jason Taumalolo over Payne Haas to start the season will be crowing right now after the Cowboys phenomenon's sensational 83-point game against the Bulldogs with Haas recording a below-par 52.

Nick Cotric busted his way to 78 against the Warriors and a hat-trick powered Kotoni Staggs to 73. Plenty of playmakers had a weekend out with Nathan Cleary (75) continuing his enormous start to the year and Mitch Pearce (75), Daly Cherry-Evans (72) and Michael Morgan (70) also dominating.

There was a huge score from a Brisbane prop but not the one we usually expect as Thomas Flegler (10 busts and 183 metres) hit 70 in possibly the best game of his NRL career. Fellow Brisbane forwards David Fifita (58) and Pat Carrigan (50) continued their price rises.

Moses breaks into space and goes all the way

There were bounce-backs for Tom Trbojevic and Coen Hess (both 59) while Tyrell Fuimaono (69), Kalyn Ponga (68), Victor Radley (67), Alex Twal (65), Aiden Tolman (64) and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (61) scored well.

There will also be more prices rises for round one mid-range Fantasy stars such as Luciano Leilua (59), Api Koroisau (57), Scott Drinkwater (52), Eliesa Katoa (48), Corey Horsburgh (47) and Kurt Mann (44). Cheapies like Brandon Wakeham (46), Billy Walters (33) and Jarome Luai (36) are making handy price rises while a move to the wing didn't hurt Zac Lomac (48).

Losers

Two potential money-makers crashed in a big way, with Joe Stimson (11) hooked early after some defensive lapses and Jack Williams (14) again racking up the demerit points.

Popular potential cash cow Zane Musgrove (18) again made little impact Fantasy-wise while Latrell Mitchell (10) shapes as an urgent sell for the 15% of coaches who own him until he finds his feet at fullback.

Jamayne Isaako (34) came down to earth after a round one monster, as did Jahrome Hughes (33), Jack Wighton (24), Jessie Arthars (7) and Brodie Croft (4), who went off early after injuring his shoulder and may miss a few games. Kallum Watkins (20) was forced onto the wing for a period which, along with his club's horror completion and penalty count, hurt his score but he remains a hold.

At the premium end, Damien Cook (45) and Cam Murray (41) continue to shed cash.

Staggs continues his stellar performance when he grabs a hat-trick
