Matchups to target in Bundy Mixer Gameweek 2

Emma Tonegato

The Dragons fullback picked up where she left off in Round 1 last weekend, showing all of the qualities which earned her the Dally M Medal in the 2021 season. Tonegato scored a try, set one up, broke eight tackles and ran for 174 metres against the Titans, for a Bundy Mixer score of 57. And there's a good chance she could have an even bigger day out against an Eels side who missed 52 tackles, leaked 10 line breaks and gave up 38 points to the Roosters in the season opener. 

Panthers wingers

It’s the biggest team mismatch in the NRL this weekend, and there is a good chance the Panthers run up a score here with wingers Taylan May and Brian To’o getting plenty of opportunities to cross for tries. The Warriors’ edges were badly exposed by the Cowboys in a 48-4 loss last week and with Penrith’s wide men usually racking up decent base stats, one of them could be worth a look as your WFB option. When they played the Warriors earlier this year May had 51 NRL points and To’o 50, with each scoring a try, and they could be on for similar points this time around.

Nicho Hynes

Hynes was a huge success in Bundy Mixer last week, scoring two tries on his way to 80 points. This Saturday he takes on a Bulldogs side who couldn’t foot it with Parramatta last week in a 42-6 loss, making for a great matchup at home for the Sharks playmaker. Hynes has been remarkably consistent in the way he has amassed stats this year and it’s not hard to see him having a day out in this one. 

Isabelle Kelly

Something about those Brisbane jerseys brings out the best in Kelly, with scores of 82 and 50 in her two matches against the Broncos last year. In last year’s semi-final win over Brisbane, the NSW centre ran riot with 156 run metres, 11 tackle breaks and a try. She started the season with a bang last week, scoring 85 Mixer points, and history suggests she is set for another big one on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
