Toby Sexton has vowed to do whatever he can to return to the Titans' pivotal playmaking role, declaring the No. 7 jersey is his to own for his future on the Coast.
Making 19 NRL appearances in 2022 before finishing the season with the Tweed Seagulls in the Hostplus Cup, the former Australian Schoolboy star has made his intentions well and truly known that he's eager to win back the jersey that he's worn on 23 occasions for the club he grew up loving.
"I see that as my jersey and I don't want anyone to take it off me," Sexton revealed.
"Right now, everything's up for grabs. I'm going to put my best foot forward for Round 1 and give myself every opportunity to be in the No. 7."
Whilst having absolutely no disrespect for fellow teammate Tanah Boyd who has been touted as the favourite to win the coveted playmaking role over the 21-year-old after being named at halfback for Sunday's clash against the Broncos, Sexton has his sights set on the next fortnight to convince Justin Holbrook he's ready for a revival.

"It'll be good [for him]. Obviously, it's not ideal [for me], but I've got two trial games to put my best foot forward and that's all I can do now," he said.
"I'm not the one selecting the team. All I can do right now is worry about the trial matches and put my best foot forward.
"If I can do that, then I'll give myself the best opportunity to be playing in Round 1."
His desire to return to being the first-choice halfback has been bolstered by the arrival of experienced playmaker Kieran Foran to the Gold Coast, acknowledging the 262-game has gone above and beyond to help him grow throughout the pre-season.
"He's been unreal. I was pumped towards the back end of last year knowing he was coming, he's blown my expectations through the park," Sexton said.
"He's got so much time for you... any question I've got, I ask him and he's always sitting down with me, whether it's in video or on the field after sessions. I try to pick his brain as much as possible.
"He's won a comp, he's played for his country, he's done everything and he's a really good bloke as well, so he's been massive for me and the other halves too."

The Palm Beach Currumbin alumni has also dismissed any suggestion he would leave Parkwood if he was to find himself back playing Cup at Piggabeen, sharing his passion and love for the organisation that has brought his NRL dream to life.
"I love this club and I'm pretty passionate about it," Sexton said.
"I've grown up my whole life here on the Gold Coast and I love this city and its people.
"I want to be part of this club for as long as possible and I can't wait to put on the Titans jersey again."
