NRL.com analyst Matt Elliott breaks down State of Origin and the structures that Queensland will look to use in the series opener at Suncorp Stadium.

The Maroons like to divide the field in half by driving into the middle area of the pitch to set up their attacking structures on either side of the ball.

The key indicator for the Maroons attack will be fullback Darius Boyd and he'll work closely with club teammate Anthony Milford. Chances are the ball will be going to the side of the field Boyd gravitates to.

They'll look to put on sweeping movements with short runners and an option out the back, the NSW defensive reads will be crucial when they are under pressure on their goal line.

For the Blues, it is all about heads-up footy, looking to punch holes in the middle of the field with hard running and offloads, and they need to be ready to capitalise on second-phase play.
