We are happy with the decision as there was separation between Earl’s hand and the ball and no evidence that he had got his hand back on the ball before it hit the ground. The video referee made the right call to disallow this try.
Panthers v Titans – happy with no-try call when Kevin Kingston dived over from dummy-half?
Panthers forward Tim Grant walks forward after playing the ball giving Titan Luke Douglas no opportunity in trying to stop Kingston who dived over from dummy-half. The video referee made the right call to penalise the Panthers as Douglas was interfered with and prevented from making any play on the try-scorer.
Roosters v Tigers – was the decision to award Mitch Pearce a try the correct one?
This was a very tough decision and not a normal type of obstruction play. Mitchell Pearce runs behind his own player in the final moments of the play and Wests Tigers’ Matt Utai is prevented from an opportunity to make a tackle. This could have been penalised for an obstruction.
What were your thoughts on Wests Tigers' try that Blake Ayshford scored – before the play continued and Benji Marshall crossed?
Yes this was the correct decision and the referees and the video referee went through the right process to get the decision. There is no separation when Ayshford grounds the ball so it is a fair try. The referees decided to let play go on until there was a stoppage before checking it with the video referee, they followed the right process and the try was rightly awarded.
